Bio
My professional experience started when I began as an intern in the help desk for MCI almost 10 years ago. From there I learned the ins and outs of corporate information systems. Not much later from when I started there I began studying programming languages and quickly found my niche in the database world.
This lead to a position as a data analyst with the Business Management team for the call center. There we designed and built a custom reporting portal that collected data from several different systems we used internally. Quickly evolving from MS Excel and Access I began developing in SQL Server 2000.
After MCI closed I continued down the SQL development path at ICE enterprises. There I implemented our first enterprise reporting platform based in SQL Server Reporting Services. This is where I really started to gain a deep understanding and appreciation for what we now call Business Intelligence or just BI.
Things got a bit shaky there and I decided to explore other options which lead me into a contract/consulting practice. This lasted for almost 3 years until I ended up moving to sunny San Diego.
Since my relocation to San Diego I have held several contract and full time positions, all focused around the Microsoft Business Intelligence suite of tools.
My goal going forward is to continue progressing in the BI world and to help companies make more informed fact-based decisions utilizing the best technologies available.
